Hi all
We left home last wed, stayed in a travelodge overnight, caught the 8am Dover to dunkirk ferry. Drove down to Cologne and stayed over night. Got to the show at 6pm, qued for an hr to find out there were no camping places even though we had prepaid. Eventually we were told where to pitch up, like most other campers it was on part of the car park, had a few words with the polish campers as they wanted the whole area, anyway got tents up, had to use a lump hammer and large screwdriver to make a hole just to get a few pegs in. The germans were selling six inch nails for the tents. Found out later they let in some 2000 extra people in over Thurs and Friday(100 euros on the door) so it was very snug.  The show was very good, it was just the greed and bad organisation on their part, and no where near enough facilities for everyone. Left on Monday stayed in a F1 in France, drove back to the port and caught the 8pm ferry back to Dover, stayed overnight and got home wed avro. Drove 1450 miles and 6 countries. We had nine mini's and our Ranger as the support vehicle, all the minis made it with only a few small problems, one car was an 850 and it struggled up the hills.
All in all we had a great trip the convoy was superb and had lots of drink and laughs.
Roll on the Swiss IMM next year.
