I kept most of if as I used all the lighting, indicators, fuel pump, gauges etc. took out all the door & cabin stuff, then I pulled more out each winter as I tried to pare it down, in the end I also replaced the fusebox.

I need a pin out for this ecu

I imagine it just wants an earth, a permanent live and an ign fed live. And the rest are just connections between the itself and all the sensors ?

brave or foolish theres only a very fine line between them but only time will tell lol

ive reduced the loom to a more manageable size but theres plenty more that can come out like both fuse boxes, i think i only need 1 fuse as all its running is the ecu and maybe one for the fuel pump

its moving along at a reasonable pace, i think i only need to sort the front suspension top mounts and it can be stripped to finish welding and then paint the frame, passenger side front looks ok but the drivers side is cramped due to the pedals brake servo and steering column, i might cut the pedal box out and re make to create more room for the suspension top mount, i should have gone rear engine and based it on an mgf lol, maybe next,

thats one of the rear top mounts i just need to make something a little less bulky i think

the drivers side is a little more cramped

if i sent the brake servo down an inch or so i could probably dogleg a piece of box section up from the suspension top to the upper pedal box support as ive drawn in yellow

will ponder this as i start making my reindeer today

Alan are you using a brake servo on yours ? deleting mine would buy me a whole lot of space ?
Yeah but not sure it's necessary, but you will need to use the bias valve or so they tell me otherwise the rears will lock up too easily.

heres an odd idea how about no rear brakes  its a gokart its for driving on grass and as its an auto only 2 pedals, one for each foot when i come to a corner i can press both pedals the front should slow down and back should come round as the tyres spin up :oops:
just an idea at the moment

but my OCD won out i dont like both sides of the front tube work being a different shape due to the brake servo  so i cut it all off and started again, its the reindeers fault i was working on him and buggy was next to me and it kept looking un symmetrical and as i had the grinder in my hand .......
so i drifted from making a reindeer to working on the buggy but at least l drew him up ready to make

but i digress
all the mx5 pedals now in the bin, will make some new ones that fit the space instead of working round them

screenshot_1360.png

this has allowed me to figure out the front suspension tops which i want as bolt on to allow for height adjustment

screenshot_1355.png

this has rounded up the front a bit making it look a bit softer it also gives me a couple of top rails almost as high as the engine to support a bonnet of sorts

and hey presto we have tiny weeny brake master cylinder, mk 2 escort that has been lurking on my shelf with intent for a good few years
will make the brake pedal longer than the stock mx5 to make it a bit easier to press as there is no help from the servo now

yaba dabba doo its symmetrical i feel so much better lol

Had a quick look tonight they are quite good, indicators, side, hight & dip, they have 4 mounting holes on the back, bit of bent plate with some support will see them pretty solid.

hi Alan
i think ive talked myself into round ones

ive finished the footwells on both sides what a tedious job with all those angles to sort out

then i added in the top front bar and its starting to look like something now

and thats when i decided round lights might look good

so that was sorted until i wondered if triangular lights might look ok
