Re: Got a Freestyle Buggy at last!

very well done it's a nice feeling isn't it, you are now one of not many who will be driving a car they have built themselves. Thanks Alan, yes I am really pleased. Once I got the re-test bits sorted I've had to resist tinkering for the last two weeks and now I have my certificate I can make some i...

Re: Got a Freestyle Buggy at last!

Thanks Rich, all the hard work finally paid off. The IVA examiner mentioned that once you send the certificate off for registration you won't ever see it again and sometimes our favourite government agency are known to loose them in the system so I will make sure I take a copy, if only for memorabil...

Re: Got a Freestyle Buggy at last!

Got my IAC today (individual approval certificate) which is a right result and now it means I can fit these. DSC_0049.JPG A nice pair of LED headlights, I couldn't fit them pre IVA as the manual states you need to have auto level lights if you have LED or zenon projector lights and also a washer whi...

Re: Steering wheel removal

Yer I did all mine, tip remember to save the old shims and the spare shims as you will probably need them one day. I put mine in a press seal bag covered in light machine oil to stop the rust.

Re: Steering wheel removal

That sounds about right, any boots with cracks etc are mot fail. Parts are cheap enough on eBay if you do it yourself.

Re: Steering wheel removal

I got mine off ok with a 27mm socket, try soaking the nut with wd40 over night. Failing that you should be able to get the wheel straight by adjusting the track rod ends both by the same increment. Use masking tape as a marker so the alignment isnt knocked out.

Re: RE: Re: Got a Freestyle Buggy at last!

So did you repaint the chassis before the iva? Thought it was bright yellow? Danny you are right, the yellow faded on top of the frame and I wanted it looking tidy for the IVA. It was probably down to UV. Ah I see... thought I was going mad at first :-) Glad you are getting there with it :-) Sent f...
