I am out of hospital but need to rest up and take a step back from 1 or 2 projects as I am burning out :-(

Sorry to hear that, hope you're feeling better.

Did you have an accident with your new MIG welder?

Re: Got a Freestyle Buggy at last!

So I rekon that's just about it for the buggy build, really pleased with it as it looking great. Paint applied to the side box section covers, nicely colour coded now to match the rest. DSC_1929.JPG DSC_1931.JPG DSC_1932.JPG Just a handful of jobs to do before I can book it in for the IVA test. List...

Re: is this a freestyle

That's not a freestyle that's an imposter. At least I don't think it shares the same lines as mine. I recon someone with a welder tried to Knock one up.

I recon the engine might be worth £300 if a 1275 or bigger but £3500 no way... What a joker. His pictures are worse than mine..

Re: Got a Freestyle Buggy at last!

I only asked about the engine running in case you hadn't actually got reverse properly with the gearstick & you only thought you were in reverse, but if you say it selects well then that's probably okay. Again from the 1st page you have a shortened gear stick, maybe try the original one? Do you...

Re: Wales Buggy Run 5th - 8th July 2018

I've found the recovery guys are always spot on with their diagnosis as they are on the front line, see it day in day out. (Maybe not though with buggys). Hope you get it sorted. these guys just drive trucks... not interested in cars in anyway from what i gathered I've only called them out twice, t...

Re: Got a Freestyle Buggy at last!

On one of my builds it was slightly out when I took it for the test they allowed me to modify it on the rollers, just make sure it over reads, 32 at 30, can't be 29.5 at 30 Good tip thanks Alan, it's nice to see they let you have some tinker time at the test centre, especially as they have the righ...

bloody good weekend though :D Lots of fun... lots of twists and lots of dusty getaways :D :D Danny, sorry to see you are getting your money's worth out of the AA/RAC membership. What went wrong with your buggy that you couldn't fix? Good to see you did get some miles in it though, looking forward t...

Re: Got a Freestyle Buggy at last!

I can see from page 1 you've swapped the gear selector round so it should work. Couple of questions, if you manually push the switch on do your reversing lights come on? Is the engine running & can you select reverse? Hi Alan, the reverse light works, has 12v but switch not connected in yet as ...

Re: Got a Freestyle Buggy at last!

Drilled some holes and make a bracket, now the engine cover is fitted. This should keep Mr IVAs balls of any sharp bits. DSC_1916.JPG I mounted the fuel filter on the side of the sub -frame, not really sure there was a better place. I will swap the plastic cable ties out for stainless to make it a l...

Re: Got a Freestyle Buggy at last!

Have you turned your selector around? Yes that is done, when I say I can't get the reverse light to work, it does work just not when in reverse. I bought a new switch as the wires had come off, tried to repair it by soldering new wires on but that wasn't very successful. when I lift the stick and p...

Re: Got a Freestyle Buggy at last!

Remembered to add my DOT4 sticky thing, just need to put one on the indicator stalk for the indicators and one on the dash for the noisy button. DSC_1882.JPG I couldn't use the horn button on the end of the stalk as it shorted all my dials out, probably what killed off the last rev counter. I added ...
