Cheap hydragas pump?

Let's see if a £8 test pump from China will work as a hydragas pump....

It struggled to get to 400psi (no surprise as it was rated and gauged for 325psi) so I swapped the gauge for a 600psi one and fitted some better o-rings. Now the top of the tank bends a bit where the pump mounts when you get some steam up but a bit of bracing will sort that.

I didn't have any 5/16 X 32tpi fittings handy (3/16" union nuts use that thread but I didn't have any of them either) so I butchered a valve extender for the thumb-nut and fired up the lathe to make a centre that pushed the centre pin on the Schrader valve. Quick blob of weld and job done.

I bought a pair of these for £2.50.

They have an 1/8"bspt thread which is perfect as the inside of the spigot on the hydragas unit is the perfect bore to take an 1/8" thread!!

With a hydragas unit jammed under my bench, it pressurised up to 450psi. I'll endeavour to get the units fitted to the buggy at the weekend and see if things are going to work....

Can't remember the pressure I use/used but think it was only just over 300psi, I did it on height
