K Series into my Blitz2

So, I'm gradually collecting together the parts required for my conversion to K power, I have a nice, low mileage, new-spec head gasket'd VVC engine from an MGF, complete on its subframe with gearbox, suspension, brakes etc, what I'm wondering is, do I have to use the rubber body mounts to fix it to my Blitz frame, or can I bolt it straight through the subframe, as is done with the old Mini subframe?,... Looks like I could save a few kgs of metal by chopping off the MGF body mounts....
Any constructive comments welcome....

I maintained both sets of rubber bushing at both ends of the subframe, for the front I made a jig & just welded 4 short pieces of steel to the chassis, for the rear I made flat plates to pick up the frame. But this is a Freestyle not Blitz, but the principle is the same.
