metro possible problem alert

rusty gates

Hi all
just thought I  would share some info:-
I have been reading a book on the development of the mgf.
to test the mid engined concept they put the engine&front subframe at the back of a metro van
(one was disguised as a pizza delivery van)
the book said one problem was that the metro front suspension is designed as an anti dive system. so that when fitted at the back it jacked up the rear end under braking instead.
they seemed to suggest that this was overcome by linking the front and rear hydrolastics??
but was a bit vague about this ,seemed to be suggesting that it was a new idea .I thought that was the set up on the original Austin 1100?
Any one know any more?

front to rear is the set up on the old Morris and Austin 1100/1300 range, on the MGF, it set up to work side to side.
