Seat Mounting

When my seats are fitted I have bolted straight through the floor, the bolts at the back (I have put spacers at the front to get a bit of rack) project out of the nut by 12mm or so, is this acceptable or do I need to use nut covers? (This is on the underside of the buggy.

My bolts come through the floor, they are in an area that is non'contactable so you don't need covers for them

The answer I was hoping for, if you could just arrange for the snow & blizzard conditions to get better I might finish.

Hi
assuming the bolts are going downthrough the floor with the nut outside
your best off putting the nut inside and the bolt outside! so the other way round less to catch when off roading or your scrape the bottom on the person you run over !

Best bolts to use, especially if you are going off roading are Socket Button Head Screws like 3rd and 4th down on this page http://www.namrick.co.uk/browse.asp?PCID=10 with a nice big washer. Going upwards as Lee suggests.

But for SVA it doesn't matter since they are below floor level and not tested.
