Hi all,

I want to replace my exhaust system with a stainless system... anybody know where I can get a stainless manifold from?

You'll have to ask these guys exactly what it is they are selling.

On a slightly different note, exhaust, note get it :D

Mine sounded almost as bad as yours when I got home

Unless I do what max has done.....

I could buy a back box mount it to the buggy with the manifold fitted and then find a company to sort the bit in teh middle :)

Danny,

The picture is of a 321 LCB its just very difficult to see the bottom bends of the 2 down pipes.
Its the same as Max's setup as you show in the pic above.

Hi Danny,
My set up is a mini LCB completely untouched not chopped or changed in anyway. It then goes into a modified Y piece to bring it round at the right angle. That small exhaust flexi-pipe allows quite a lot of movement from the engine, thus isolating any harmful movement at the silencer avoiding what happened to poor Mr Bumble. The silencer is mounted on a couple of rubber bobbins too, but we went with a flexi-pipe too just to be on the safe side!

Thanks Alan!! Everything Steve and Rich touch seems to turn into fabricator's porn :p

ok

I think I will buy the LCB and a back box and find someone to weld the middle up :)

Now I like the idea of the flexi and the lacquer :)

Sounds like a plan! :) Only took steve a couple hours. He arrived around 9-10 and we were done by lunch, so labour shouldn't cost too much! I would definitely advise having a flexi after seeing bumble's exhaust. Particularly because when you weld stainless, the heat affected zone loses a load of chromium i think, which significantly weakens it, so movement and vibration leads to fatigue very quickly and then consequently it fractures. I think that was the science behind it anyways :p As for the lacquer, It smoked like a chimney when we ran it for the first time with the new exhaust in place, and as you can see it goes that bronze colour :) Not sure how long the lacquer will last though...

I have a sump guard on so the bottom of the LCB is not that vulnerable. You could always chop and reweld the bends up a bit further up.
Sorry if any of that is splet wrong, I can't see as i have just had some wierd eye frops from the opticians :p
