whats the insulation wrap used on the body tubing ?

Hi guys what is the insulation tubing and where do you get it from that some owners have put on their cars tubing ? I understand the chassis tube is 38 mm dia , I did not know any of the standard pipe lag foam tubes would fit thought that was just 15mm and 22 mmm ?.

I would like to use it to protect my paintwork in vunerable areas plus I think it looks purposeful ..

It's rollbar padding.  Can get it from most motorsports suppliers.

Thats the same stuff i have on mine. If you look at my build diary it will give you a idea of what it will look like on the buggy, i used 4 metres of the stuff and the pictures will show you how far that will get you.

This link's just been posted on locostbuilders.  Pipe lagging in the right diameter.
No idea if it will work as well as the proper stuff, but a lot cheaper.

Just be aware that under the IVA rules it can't be used to hide any projections. They will require that you remove it for the test. the only area i have been told by the Derby test station that is acceptable to have it is around the top roll hoops to prevent banging your head.
