Freestyle Road Legal Buggy Trip To Wales 2010

The Wales trip is now becoming a bit of a MuddyBuggies tradition, before this trip in 2010, Steve Alan and Simon did a tour of Wales. I was not able to make this trip as I was actually travelling around Australia at the time. However, the Wales trip in 2010 myself and my girlfriend Jane made it.

We met at the garden centre in Lichfield and we had tea and coffee while we came acquainted with the others. I made a comment about Simon's brakes, as previously I rammed him on the way to another show, the comment went along the lines of “I've not seen your brake lights at all today”. The MuddyBuggies Owners Club

The MuddyBuggies Owners Club has grown over the years and at first we only had Freestyle owners but now we have all sorts of buggies ranging from Blitz to Howies and of course teh freestyle.

We attend a lot of kit car shows and also a few of the mini shows up and down the country and that is what being in a club is all about the social aspect! Going to teh shows has always been a big part of my own personal summer including the copious amounts of beer and wine that gets consumed. [Read more...]

Newark Kit Car Show 2006

The day before the show I was just doing some small repairs to buggy from the Poland trip. I had to re wire my siren and fix a broken wire for the indicators. All this was easily done and all that was left to do was a bit of polishing and by 7 in the evening I was ready.

I told Simon Brown that I would not even be able to leave for the show until mid day due to wanting to spend some time with the girlfriend. so at 11 o'clock I snuck out and made my way to Tesco to buy the all important supplies of beer and sausages. I met Simon at around 11:30 and we started our way to Newark, we always decide to avoid the motorways as we both enjoy pushing our buggies to the limit through the country lanes and well I can speak for myself here I enjoy driving through the villages that you seem to always avoid on the motorway.

About 45 mins into the trip I seemed to have lost the clutch and so we limped across a roundabout and pulled over but then as if my magic my clutch was back and so I decided just to push on and if needs be just drive without the clutch. [Read more...]
