If the arm is no longer in the frame, put he end of the knuckle in a vice and pull the arm away from it. If it is still in the subframe then you need to use some mole grips, grip it an yank on it till it comes out. Brut force is the answer... New joints come with the plastic cap so don't worky about damaging the plastic bit (unless you are resuing them)
