Protection around the engine

Hi Guys,
Been giving some thought to the above:
Is there a SVA requirement that the rear bulk head (between seats and engine) is at a certain height? I have been considering having mine around 8 inches lower as my lump sits lower and further back.

Also as there will be no exposed moving parts on my engine ( cooling fans, belt drives, pulleys) do I need to go to the same lengths as usual to enclose it at the sides and rear? Or will the SVA man jump in there with his balley thing?

I would like to keep the top half of the engine bay completely open.

Any ideas?

If you don't cover it in then everything in there will have to be at least 2.5mm radius. I would have thought it would be easier to cover it for the test then redesign it later, only needs to be mesh with trim round tiewrapped to frame.
