Steering Column

Hi
I have play in one of the UJ's on the lower steering column and when I turn lock to lock the operation is notchy....not smooth.
I'm wondering what vehicle is the lower column from and or are there any mods that can be done?
Also there is play on the upper column top bush........is that bush available?

The steering is a little notchy, the best way it seems is to loosen evey thing off ever so slightly, (NOT The column to rack pinch bolt) the rack U-bolts, the column U-bolts & then sort of pull the column in & out whilst turning the steering wheel until you get the best movement. If you have the rack too far round & the angle of the joining rod too steep it is notchy, it's all a bit of a compromise really. The upper bearing is from a MK3 escort I think, Danny/Simon will be along soon to correct me if I'm wrong.
