Indicators

Hi,

finished wiring up the indicators this evening but am a bit puzzled :?: Nearside flashes at 60 beats a minute but offside is only 45 beats a minute (SVA requires 60-120 beats per minute). Have tried changing the flaher unit (bi-metalic strip type) but makes no difference.

Any ideas ?

Are all the bulbs the same at both sides, all that happens with a bi-metal is as there is power going through it, it warms up & breaks the circuit, cools down & makes circuit, warms breaks cool etc. If you've accidentally got a 5W in one of the lights instead of a 21W. The other option could be you've a hi-resistant earth.

Did you change bi-metal for bi-metal? If so maybe buy an electronic one, you'll have to add an earth onto it, but other than that it's a straight swap.

Alan,

checked all the bulbs and earth connections but could not find anything wrong. Decided to "borrow" the electronic flasher unit from my Firefox and it worked perfectly :D

thanks

Good to hear, suspect there must be a slightly hi-resistant joint somewhere that the bi-metal is seeing but the electronic doesn't care about.

Remeber to get another before you take the Firefox out again.

Sounds like the same problem I was having on the way to Newark... But after installing an elecy one all was stable again.
