indicators

does anyone else have a problem with indicators when the vehicle is standing. when ever i come to a junction, they work on approach and then stop as the buggy stops. some as i pull away, they start again!

any ideas??

Only thing I can suggest is the voltage is dropping too low at idle. Suggests alternator/battery are the first place to check.

Is the fan belt tight enough (not too tight, the haynes book of lies says how much is correct IIRC).
Measure the battery voltage at idle, if it's below 14 and a bit something is definitely wrong. Putting jump leads on should make the indicators work again which is confirmation.

Also is it an old bi-metal strip or a new electronic one? if the old style try replacing it with a new electronic one, you will have to run a new earth to it.
