Old cars -- don't you just love 'em ?  That's how the old mini was --- anything below a scorching hot day and you needed choke to get them going.  Back in the day when I had a mini as a daily runner there were auto choke conversions around --- I am sure one of the mini mad guys (Max ?) can advise.

Every carburated classic needs to be started with the choke, unless it has just been running. If you don't want the hassle of the choke, get an injection engine.

My brother used to have a Fiesta with an "Auto-choke". It was a bimetallic strip of some sort that closed the choke as the coolent warmed up.

To be honest, it was a bit rubbish and the car kept cutting out due to it over-choking.  ::)

We replaced it with a manual choke...  ;)

have to agree with alan re buying a jap car if you dont want to use yer choke!

now that its turnin colder, you'll deffo need to use it. is there summit wrong re the reason you dont want to use it?

the yellow car was mine yes it is a tiger Avon i built it myself from a kit
but sold it to a guy that came from germany to pick it up is was running
on a 2.0l pinto engine. as for the mini it is taken off the road for some
improvement's to the car.the choke is not a prob just asking if there was a
product on the market to over come this that all .........
