Is it a single cylinder engine, there are some generic ignition CDI's which may work depending on how good you are with electrics

Good point Alan my Chinese buggy had a copy of a 250 Honda engine.

Mine used the engine and CDI from a Honda CN250. There were after market versions with a pot on to advance and retard the ignition.

Definitely s good starting point

Worth a try.

Keep searching the engine will be mass produced and common in something else e.g a scooter in my case. Honda CN250

A chap at work had a PGO 250 bugrider, turns out it is a Piaggio engine.

This chap on eBay is selling RL300 parts, worth a message.
