So Melvin has some very cheap coilovers on, which TBH for the most part are okay, but I was doing a Classic Tour at the weekend & some the country roads left a little to be desired in the terms of smoothness. The issue it the rear springs are setup for the weight of the MX5 which is a lot heavier than the Mevster which gives it a bit of a crashy ride, but the alternative is something along the lines of Gaz, but they are coming in at £800 for a set of 4, which for a car that does so little mileage is a tad expensive, bearing in mind my daily a Pug 207 1.4 diesel only cost me £500.
Where is this going, can I give the springs to somebody, tell them the weight/tension I want in the spring & they can rework them to be softer. it's 45 years since I did metallurgy at school/college so I haven't a clue.
