Update time, its been far too long since the last update but things get in the way of building this monster !! However I have to say we are very close now, I got the handbrake working this week, and started the conversion for the wheel arches, I am re-using part of the old brackets and the original fibreglass arches but the mounting positions have all changed so im going to have to fill in some holes and repair or re-cover the arches, so here are the new rear brackets - need some cleaning up and powder coating yet but you get the idea:

and in position:

Front ones tacked together:

And finally a side view with the rear arch sat on the mounts, not fastened down or anything but gives you an idea of what they will look like:

Going to finish off the brackets clean them all up and getthem to the powder coaters this week (im on my hols :) ) then its MOT time!!! - I have also booked the buggy in to be corner weighted and the local motorsports area of the college with Steve as the rear springs need changing they are a little under rated now due to the additional weight of the engine so will need changing but they do hold it up ok so far :)

So update time, took the buggy to our local motorsports college for corner weighting and to sort the rather ropey alignment I did in the garage, turned out rear alignment is spot on but the front was miles out - kind of explains why it was trying to kill me all the time!! so she has put on a little weight in fact quite a lot actually now sits fully laden at 1 ton!! - here she is going on the scales:

Got it all aligned and sorted and she handles great now, still need to replace the springs but at least its driveable now if a little soft on the suspension! Here are a few shots of her out in the local area, not the best weather but needed some completed shots for the show entries!!

So had a few issues with the buggy, turbo decided to crap out and blow its oil seals - to be fair once I stripped it down it was not in a good shape, even with a service kit it was still knackered! removed the compressor wheel to find oil here and at the other end:

so had to get a new cartridge and rebuild the turbo:

whilst everything was in bits I also decided to swap out the hydraulic cam chain tensioner before shot with the inlet cam released

dogy chain tensioner on the right - and with it removed:

got it all swapped out and primed the turbo, ran it up to temp as per fitting instructions and the bleedin turbo oil return hose started leaking so gotta take it off and replace that now!!

Hopefully this will be the last of the issues !!
