sub section 11 might be a killer ...... would a behind seat tank, even if enclosed in a firewalled compartment be considered a compartment integral to the passenger compartment ??

That's not actually the bit I was thinking about Kev, where's the bit gone about the fuel tank being IN the engine bay, it only now says filler cannot be in engine bay.

It does say it needs to be separate from a heat source or moving parts so i still think it would need to have a bulkhead if it went in that handy space in the engie bay on the drivers side infront of the wheel arch... you know of this position i presume
