Proven Braking Systems

I'd be grateful if some of you people who have got your Freestyles through SVA/IVA could let me know what brake setup worked for you.

What I'm mainly interested in is how the correct front to rear bias is achieved - Pressure reducing valve? Or can it be done by selecting the correct size cylinders?

My Freestyle had the brakes partially plumbed when I bought it, and had the 4 way valve block from the late minis fitted. I know from experience this unit is unreliable and expensive so I'm hoping there's a better way.

Thanks in advance ;)

None of the buggies I've put through SVA have ever had the valve fitted, the first 3 had twin pot callipers & Mini discs up front & the front drums modified at the rear, the last one had twin pot callipers & Mini discs up front & Mini discs & Golf callipers at the rear. They all had standard Mini M/C's, you do need to ensure they get plumbed in the correct way around if your using a Yellow M/C

Thanks for that Alan!

I'll junk the valve and run the pipes straight through then. Happy days!

Any idea what size rear cylinders you used?
