Steering lock.....is it a SVA requirement?

Guys,
Building the dash at the moment and have started thinking about the cowl to fit over the steering column. Due to my hand controls and the way I want it to look I want to mount the ignition switch somewhere else.
But is the steering lock a SVA requirement?
Speaking to Richard at Donnington he was thinking about moving his ignition switch due to his son's knee knocking the key and turning the engine off, but this is post SVA.
Any ideas?

Steering lock isn't a requirement, but you must have two forms of immobilisation, ignition key and steering lock is the easy way, but no reason why could couldn't fit something else (mustn't work on the brakes or steering) and must be permanent so krooklocks are out.

Thanks, sounds promising.
The R1 donor bike had an Alarm fitted. I am guessing that it will include and imobiliser.

So if I ever get round to sorting the loom out and finishing the wiring I may be sorted by the sounds of it.

It has a remote key fob as well.

Maybe I can splice it into the central locking and get it to wind up the windows as well!! :shock:
