Hello,
i've been a slack bar-steward, started a new job, bought an E30 bmw and sank loads of time and money into it (excuses excuses  )instead of my buggy, just been talking about the buggy funnily enough, away this wekend but should be back on the case soon,
Its rolling with steering but thats about it! bit more welding, all the plumbing and wiring, build an ecu, etc etc!!!!!!

I too having been slacking the past few weeks! Hit a wall with all the crappy jobs and spent time doing important things like organising my socks alphbetically.
Anyway back in the right frame of mind again today, pulled it out in the sun, took some pictues with the new exhaust on it and wrote a list of stuff that I need to buy tomorrow to start the next few jobs.

Which are plumbing, cooling and brake pipes.
Cut aluminium bulk head to go behind seats.
Should do for this weekend, any shouts of abuse of encouragement to spur me on will be greatfully recieved!

it's looking insane. looking forward to seeing a car that will do 0-60mph in 2seconds, up a dry river bed.

don't knoe much about the R1, is it prop or chain? going for one of those chain drive diffs that zcars are putting in th ebike engined minis?

are you going to use a transfer box for reverse or the starter motor way?

sorry too many questions but looking very cool, now pull you rfinger out and get it done.

p.s wots going on with the tandam bmx in back ground of some of the pics? - bit of a fiddler are we? lol.

Thanks Guys, feel more motivated already!
The R1 is out of an 03 bike , I have been told these are good for just over 150 bhp. It,s going to be chain drive, home made diff based on a mini cross pin dif, with sprocket where crownwheel should be, reverse is an R1 starter motor that locates on a straight cut gear mounted on the whole assembly. Took inspiration from Jedi Race car, pic below....

mmmm yes the tandem....it was one of those really important jobs that had to be done......you know a couple of old bikes lying around....bored kids in the holidays.....the welder doing nothing..
Started as am articulated tandem, but they found it too hard to ride..

So I took the middle wheel out and welded it all up solid, still work in progress...

Anyway thanks for the pep talk guys off to bed early, busy day tomorrow!

Paul,

Your buggy is looking great. Things have been slow on my end as well. I blame the weather ,it really did stop raining, so have been under orders to sort out the garden!!

Managed to get back in the garage yesterday with the aim of fixing the handbrake ready for the SVA re-test only to find the new cable I bought was the wrong one !!

Most people seem to be using the Fiat Panda cable which has long spings that need to be shortened and this is what I just bought by mistake. Seems that I must have originally used a Fiat Uno cable which is very slightly shorter and has shorter fatter springs. As I made up all my brackets to suit the Uno cable I need to get another one . The Panda cable is not required so if anyone wants it let me know.

The enthusiams back in a big way! My Carbon Firbe cycle wings turned up in the week :D . Had to have some made as I had trouble finding anyone who made cycle wings to fit my tiny 13" wheel/tyre combo. The Guys at carbon mods were a great help, this was their first set this small, in this style - made to order. Fitted my aluminium bulk head and made a nice mount for the radiator header tank as well as a few other fiddly brackets.
Will keep you posted....

Any word on that bonnet Dave???
