I think my user name was Matt Black back in the day.... but you'll probably all remember my Freestyle's name better... "Dibble".... Black n Red, big exhaust, pure "road porn" StarMag wheels.
Well.... believe it or not... Dibble is still alive and relatively well.... but very sadly just taking up room under a cover on my drive.
So I've reached that age when sense is overtaking my heart, so Dibble needs to move along. I was therefore delighted to see this group is still going... Alan, Danny etc. How are you all doing?
The buggy still runs as sweeeeet as a nut.... Seriously, a flat battery is as bad as it's gotten. Sections of the frame and the bumpers need blasting back and re-powder coating, and that would have the old boy looking as good as he ever did (best looking Freestyle ever.... in my opinion... but I'm biased LOL). Engine bay needs a bit of a tickle, but nothing grim.
Still fully road legal.... have the log book..... some years he's been SORNED, some years I get my finger out and MOT, tax and insure him with the intention of getting out and about, and it just never happens.
Do you ever get anyone on here who's looking for a Freestyle that's already done, running and road legal?.... I really want to him to go to someone who would appreciate the spirt of the Freestyle rather than flogging him to some grunt on EBay.
I'm not looking for anything daft money wise, I'd rather see the buggy go to an enthusiastic home. Someone who really really wants to build a Freestyle, but is put off by the IVA, would be the ideal candidate. Dibble could be stripped down, re-powder coated, rebuilt, and driven off down the M1 or into the sunset perfectly legally.
Anyhow.... let me know how you're all keeping.... if anyone does happen to know of someone who's after a gorgeous little Freestyle with a 1275GT lump and the sexiest wheels ever, then let me know.
