    Diff Pin

Hi guys, long time since I posted on here.  :-[ Well I planned to compete in loads of car trials this year but the buggy suffered from lots of mechanical problems so we ended up missing most of them and retiring from those we did get to as it kept breaking down. Handbrake broke, Gear change...

    Gear change problem

I seem to have developed an intermittment gear change problem. I originally thought it was excessive play in the gear rods/linkage but that had been sorted last weekend. Test drove the buggy several times in the week and all was OK. Arrived at Wye valley trial this morning after an early...

    Gear linkage

The gear linkage on my buggy has always been an issue - made several tweaks and changes over the years but was never happy with it. After doing my recent engine swap I found the gear change was even worse. I guess the new engine must just sit slightly different angle. So I decided to go back to...

    Rubber Cones

My buggy always used to lean to the right as one of the rubber suspension cones was really old and worn. Well doing my engine swap I decided to fit new rubber cones. Wow what a difference - it has increased ride height by at least 2 inches at the rear. Ideal for trialling as I need good ground...

    1275 camshaft

The camshaft I took out of the engine I am rebuilding was a Kent 296 which was far to racey for my needs so it has gone to a good home via e-bay. Hence I now need a camshaft - standard 1275 would do or an MG Metro one if I can find one. Anyone got a spare hiding in the garagre ? Thanks Richard

    1275 rebuild

Hi, I have stripped my new/old 1275 engine and to the best of my ability with limited measuring equipment chaecked various clearances etc. Nothing is perfect but as far as I can tell most things are just within tolerances so it seems like I can get away without any major expense for now. I am...

    Crownwheel & pinion

Hi, I am looking for a 3.7 or 3.9 final drive crownwheel & pinion to go in the 1275 engine/gearbox I am rebuilding. The gearbox I have came from a Metro Turbo which has 3.21 final drive which is not ideal for trialling especially as I have 14 inch wheels fitted. Thanks Richard

    1275 engine

I am thinking about upgrading to a 1275 as the 998 we have is a little tired and we are certainly lacking some power on the steep hills when trialing. What should I expect to pay? I have been offered a 50,000 mile engine complete with starter, alternator, carb etc for £350. Engine code is 12HE...

    Minus Cars

Hi, I had been struggling with an electrical problem on my Firefox for a couple of weeks. For the first time since starting my kit car hobby several years ago I gave in and called an expert for help. So who did I call? Shaun Dyson from Minus cars is a friend of my Dad. Having been made...
